Snap counts: Chiefs got a long look at WR Chris Conley

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The play counts for the Kansas City Chiefs from Friday night's 34-10 win against the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium:

Quarterback: Aaron Murray 31, Alex Smith 28. Did not play: Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray. The Chiefs got a long look at Murray, including some time in the second quarter with the starters. But the quarterback depth chart hasn’t changed.

Running back: Charcandrick West 25, Jamaal Charles 13, Spencer Ware 12, Darrin Reaves 11, Knile Davis 6, Anthony Sherman 3. Charles played more than he had in either of the first two games and is now probably done with game action until the regular season begins.

Wide receiver: Chris Conley 52, Jeremy Maclin 27, Frankie Hammond Jr. 26, Fred Williams 17, Jason Avant 14, Albert Wilson 4, Da'Ron Brown 2. Did not play: Kenny Cook, Junior Hemingway, Donatella Luckett, Jeret Smith, D'Anthony Thomas, L'Damian Washington. The Chiefs wanted a long look at Conley, who was in for all but seven plays. His extended playing time came at the expense of many of their other young receivers.

Tight end: James O'Shaughnessy 39, Travis Kelce 31, Ryan Taylor 11, Richard Gordon 2. Did not play: Demetrius Harris, Adam Schiltz. O’Shaughnessy, a rookie, also played the most among tight ends in each of the first two preseason games.

Offensive line: Paul Fanaika 32, Ben Grubbs 32, Donald Stephenson 32, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif 32, Mitch Morse 32, Derek Sherrod 27, Jarrod Pughsley 27, Eric Kush 27, Zach Fulton 27, Daniel Munyer 27. Did not play: Jeff Allen, Anthony Dima, Eric Fisher, Garrett Frye, Marcus Reed, Tavon Rooks, Charles Tuaau. The Chiefs continued to play without Allen and Fisher, two of their starters when not injured. It looks like they won’t play in the final preseason game, either.

Defensive line: Nick Williams 31, Allen Bailey 29, Mike Catapano 28, Jaye Howard 23, Hebron Fangupo 20, Mike DeVito 12, Rakeem Nunez-Roches 7, Vaughn Martin 3. Did not play: David Irving, Dontari Poe. Irving is an intriguing young prospect, so it’s interesting he didn’t play except on special teams.

Linebacker: Derrick Johnson 29, Justin Houston 29, Ramik Wilson 28, Dezman Moses 26, Frank Zombo 21, Josh Martin 19, Dee Ford 18, Tamba Hali 18, D.J. Alexander 15. Did not play: Ja'Gared Davis, James-Michael Johnson, Josh Mauga, Justin March. Hali and Ford rotated by series at one outside position.

Defensive back: Marcus Peters 30, Husain Abdullah 29, Ron Parker 29, Jamell Fleming 27, Phillip Gaines 25, Eric Berry 18, Tyvon Branch 17, Steven Nelson 17, Sean Smith 15, Daniel Sorensen 14, Marcus Cooper 11, Kelcie McCray 9, Deji Olatoye 4, Aaron Hester 3, Sanders Commings 1. Did not play: Kenneth Penny, Kevin Short. It looks like the Chiefs, who will lose Smith for the season’s first three games because of NFL suspension, will keep many of these players after roster cuts.
