KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs pulled no surprises with their first 11 roster cuts. They waived 11 players Sunday, and seven of them didn't play in Friday night's preseason win over the Tennessee Titans. That was an ominous sign for their roster chances.
Those waived: wide receivers Kenny Cook, Jeret Smith and L'Damian Washington; tight end Adam Schiltz, offensive linemen Anthony Dima, Marcus Reed and Charles Tuaau; defensive lineman Vaughn Martin; cornerbacks Aaron Hester and Kenneth Perry; and long snapper Andrew East.
The Chiefs are down to 10 wide receivers, five tight ends, 14 offensive linemen, nine defensive linemen, 15 defensive backs and one long snapper, James Winchester.
The Chiefs are now at 79 players. They need to be at the NFL limit of 75 by Tuesday afternoon. The final round of cuts to 53 are due by Saturday.
