Maybe Houston indeed can salvage most if not all of his 2016 season. The Chiefs indicated rehab for the type of procedure Houston had usually runs between six and 12 months. If Houston can hit that six-month mark, he’d return in the middle of August.
That would mean he’d still miss all of the offseason and training-camp practice sessions. But he could be ready to play in the regular-season opener in September.
That would be a development the Chiefs would certainly welcome, and perhaps it’s a realistic one.
