KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs continued their climb in the ESPN NFL Power Rankings. The Chiefs, who beat the New England Patriots 41-14 on Monday night, jumped eight spots to No. 14 in this week's rankings.
The Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys had the week's biggest jump.
The Chiefs had dropped to No. 27 after the first two weeks of the season but moved to No. 22 last week after getting their first win of the season over the Miami Dolphins.
No. 14 sounds about right for the Chiefs. While they have impressive wins in the last two weeks against the Dolphins and Patriots, they also have an ugly home loss to the Tennessee Titans, who haven't been competitive in their three games since beating the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium to begin the season.
the Chiefs are one spot behind the Houston Texans, who are 3-1 but don't have a win over a high-quality opponent. So I could understand an argument that has the Chiefs ahead of the Texans.
The Chiefs will continue their climb if they win their next two games. The Chiefs play against the No. 9 49ers in San Francisco on Sunday. After a bye, they face the No. 5 Chargers in San Diego on Oct. 19.
