Chances of a Matt McGloin trade?

Weekend Oakland Raiders Twitter mailbag:

Bill Williamson: I think it's a possibility. Teams are always looking for depth at quarterback. With Derek Carr, Christian Ponder and Matt McGloin, the Raiders are happy with three quarterbacks. If McGloin has a good preseason but is still behind Ponder as Carr's backup, I could see another team wanting to trade for him to become their backup. It could be something to watch in early September. It has nothing to do with undrafted free agent Cody Fajardo. If the Raiders trade McGloin, it will be more because of a 53-man roster situation rather than a quarterback who is currently behind him.

BW: Latavius Murray has just 82 career carries and has battled injuries. Trent Richardson is needed as a backup. Running back is a rugged position. Murray will get banged up. Oakland will need Richardson at some point, even if it's just for a short burst.

BW: It's a fluid situation. Second-year cornerback Keith McGill was working with the first team opposite T.J. Carrie for much of the minicamp earlier this month. D.J. Hayden was getting some first-team units, but mostly he was with the second unit. This battle is far from over. But it's clear McGill, a fourth-round pick in 2014, will head to training camp with an edge over Hayden, the No. 12 overall pick in 2013.
