ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders announced that Sunday’s game at the O.co Coliseum against the Kansas City Chiefs has sold out and a local television blackout will be lifted.
That makes the Raiders, who are in a three-game losing streak and have lost five of six, seven for seven in sellouts this season.
Oakland (4-9) has sold out nine straight home games and 22 of its past 23 with this sellout against the Chiefs (10-3), who will clinch a playoff spot with either a victory over the Raiders or a Miami Dolphins loss at the New England Patriots.
For those keeping score at home, the Raiders will have now televised locally 71 home games, with 80 blackouts, since returning to Oakland from Los Angeles in 1995 after 13 seasons in Southern California. And since taking over ticket sales in 2006, the Raiders have sold out 42 of 63 home games.
In tarping off the top of Mt. Davis in the O.co Coliseum and four other sections of the original bowl, the Raiders reduced stadium capacity by about 11,000 seats this season to 53,286.
The Raiders are also taking donations for Toys for Tots from fans at Gates A, B, C and D as well as in Raiderville, the West Side Plaza and by the BART entrance.
