Menelik Watson passes concussion protocol

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders finally got some encouraging news for their offensive line when right tackle Menelik Watson passed his concussion protocol and returned to practice on Thursday.

Cornerback DJ Hayden also made his way back to practice after being sidelined earlier this week by a groin injury. Both Hayden and Watson were limited, though Watson seems the likelier of the two to play Sunday in San Diego.

The rest of Oakland's injury report stayed the same, with the exception of cornerback TJ Carrie whose ankle injury prevented him from practicing.

Defensive end Justin Tuck remains out with a sore neck. Tuck, who made a stellar play to intercept a pass from Peyton Manning last week, has also been bothered by a knee injury.

Also not practicing were cornerback Carlos Rogers (knee), left guard Gabe Jackson (knee), tight end David Ausberry (foot) and safety Jonathan Dowling (back).

Khalif Barnes, who will start at left guard in Jackson is inactive, was limited due to his quad injury while fullback Jamize Olawale (shoulder/hamstring) returned to practice and was limited. Cornerback Chimdi Chekwa also practiced after sitting out Wednesday with a sore hamstring.
