Ladarius Green being evaluated for a possible concussion

SAN DIEGO -- A full participant in practice on Wednesday, San Diego Chargers tight end Ladarius Green was evaluated for a possible concussion afterward, the team announced.

The potential for Green not playing on Sunday against the Detroit Lions would be a significant blow to the depth at tight end. Green is slated to replace Antonio Gates, who will miss the first four games of the regular season due to a violation of the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

David Johnson and Kyle Miller are the only other healthy tight ends on the roster. The Chargers also added Alex Bayer to the practice squad this week.

Guard Johnnie Troutman (forearm) and outside linebacker Tourek Williams (foot) did not practice on Wednesday and will not play on Sunday. Cornerback Craig Mager (hamstring) and outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu (hamstring) were limited participants.
