Branden Oliver listed as No. 2 RB as Chargers release first depth chart

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- In anticipation for the team’s first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Los Angeles Chargers coach Anthony Lynn released his first, unofficial depth chart on Wednesday.

And there were few surprises among the starters listed for Sunday. Keenan Allen and Tyrell Williams are listed as the starters at receiver, while Melvin Gordon and Derek Watt are the starting running backs, with Branden Oliver listed as the team’s No. 2 running back behind Gordon.

That’s about right for now, but Oliver will be pushed in weeks to come by Andre Williams and Kenjon Barner, listed as No. 3 and No. 4 behind the Buffalo product.

Barner also is listed as the team’s No. 1 kick returner, with Travis Benjamin the top punt returner for the Chargers.

The starting offensive line has been the same since the beginning of the offseason, and includes Russell Okung at left tackle, Matt Slauson at left guard, Spencer Pulley at center, Kenny Wiggins at right guard and Joe Barksdale at right tackle.

Third-round selection Dan Feeney is listed as second team at both center and right guard, while Max Tuerk is slotted in as second team at left guard behind Slauson.

Josh Lambo is listed as the starting kicker and Drew Kaser the starting punter.

On the defensive side of the ball, with Jason Verrett still working his way back from a knee injury, Trevor Williams is listed as the starting right cornerback opposite Casey Hayward. Incumbent Dwight Lowery gets the nod over Tre' Boston at free safety.
