After Thursday night's sucktacular performance against the Cavs and a slow start to Friday's game against the Knicks, I'm sure Lakers fans were excited to see Pau Gasol get rolling with 10 fourth quarter points- half of his total on the evening- as the Lakers got back on a winning track, 115-105.
One more benefit? Gasol's outburst meant another $10,000 for Haitian relief efforts, as he was among a group of 10 NBA players donating $1,000 per point Friday night to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
47 players in total, Jordan Famar among them, have contributed as well via their representation through the Wasserman Media Group. Players and franchises across the NBA, whether publicly or privately, have also given generously. Likely the most tireless advocate is Sixers center and Haitian native Samuel Dalembert (click here to reach his foundation), who has spent his time since the disaster both playing for Philly and actively working to raise funds for his country.
ESPN.com's JA Adande looks deeper into the efforts he and other NBA players are making to help.
