New K Brothers Land O' Lakers PodKast: Kobe's ankle, trade deadline and guest Ronny Turiaf

Wednesday can be tough, what with its "middle of the work week" placement. Well, the Kamenetzky brothers feel your pain and want to ease it, which is why we took it upon ourselves to hightail it to the 710 ESPN studios and lay down some PodKasting magic. We're givers. You're takers. It's kismet.

Here's a rundown...

-(2:43): We talk Kobe Bryant's ankle, which has prevented him from playing in the last four games. After playing a "blame game" with Gary Vitti, Brian and I unveil the real reason Kobe's so willing to miss time: He's discovered his inner-slacker.

All joking aside, though, I am a little concerned this injury may linger beyond simply tomorrow's game against Boston and wish Bryant had heeded my advice a few weeks ago and taken a brief voluntary rest.

-(10:24): The trade deadline is near, which naturally means a discussion about whether the Lakers need to upgrade at the point guard spot. Brian recently shared thoughts about the difference between point guard being the team's weakest position (which it is) and a deadly weakness (which it isn't). I agree, and if anything, a lack of outside shooting is a more pressing issue somehow remaining under the radar, probably because the media is stuck on the "fast point guards kills the Lakers" storyline. In case you didn't get the memo, the Lakers' D is pretty good this season.

-(19:45): We used last night's game with the Warriors as an excuse to catch up with our ol' buddy Ronny Turiaf. Brian and I attended Monday Warriors practice (featuring a hilariously disinterested Don Nelson), then talked with the ex-Laker about the injury bug, the love he still receives from Lakers fans, and Stephon Curry's "tenth grade" mustache.
