The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Jabari Brown to a 10-day contract to shore up their backcourt depth.
Brown, a 6-foot-4 undrafted rookie and former University of Missouri teammate of Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson, most recently played with the Lakers' D-League team, the Los Angeles D-Fenders. He led the D-League in scoring this season, at 24.4 points per game, and was named a 2015 NBA D-League All-Star.
The Lakers have lost guards Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Ronnie Price to season-ending injuries and are without guard Nick Young (knee) for at least the next couple weeks, Lakers coach Byron Scott said.
Their roster now stands at 16 players after being granted a hardship waiver exception from the NBA.
