Lakers sign Buycks to 10-day contract

LOS ANGELES -- After losing guard Wayne Ellington to a season-ending shoulder, the Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Dwight Buycks to a 10-day contract, the team announced Friday before facing the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center here.

Buycks last played in the NBA in 2013-14, when he played 14 games with the Toronto Raptors, averaging 3.1 points in limited minutes. He most recently played with the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA Development League, averaging 18.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 10 games.

Buycks went undrafted in 2011 after playing two seasons at Marquette. He has also played overseas in Belgium and France.

Lakers coach Byron Scott said it was unclear if Buycks would play against the Trail Blazers.

The Lakers roster now stands at 16 players.
