I cannot begin to explain how happy I am the playoffs have finally arrived.
Because while the journey to this point has actually been more interesting than I anticipated- injuries, ragged play, questions of depth, magic buttons, and so on- we've all been biding our time, more or less, waiting for the regular season to end. From day one, it was all about the postseason, one long in coming and kicked off successfully Sunday as the Lakers held down the Oklahoma City Thunder 87-79 win at Staples in Game 1 of their series.
There was much to like- Ron Artest's defense on Kevin Durant, Andrew Bynum's return to name two- and a few things... not to like. Outside shooting, a tough night for Kobe Bryant, for example. With that in mind, we look back at what went down Sunday, and look forward to how it'll play out Tuesday night in Game 2.
Will the faithful be sent home happy?
