Coach Rick Neuheisel said Thursday that Kevin Prince was 100 percent recovered from his sprained shoulder but held true to his word that he wouldn't name a starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Texas at the Rose Bowl.
Prince, the starter in Week 1 against Houston, left that game after taking a hard hit early in the second quarter and sat out last week's victory over San Jose State. He said he wasn't fully recovered earlier this week but went through a full practice every day and looked good throwing the ball on Wednesday and Thursday.
"He’s 100 percent and he’s ready to go," Neuheisel said. "So is Richard [Brehaut] and we’ll have them both available."
Brehaut has passed for 409 yards and three touchdowns in Prince's absence and he's also rushed for 131yards and a touchdown. But Prince started at Texas last season and led the Bruins to a 34-12 victory. He had a 38-yard touchdown run in that game and directed the UCLA run game to a 264 yard-performance.
