Women's basketball reach WNIT final

Jacki Gemelos scored 15 points to lead USC to a lopsided 63-36 victory over Illinois State in the semifinals of the women's NIT Wednesday night at Redbird Arena.

USC will face Toledo in the WNIT Championship at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday in Toledo, Ohio.

The win was USC's fourth straight road win in the WNIT and Illinois State's first home loss of the season. The Trojans (24-12) jumped out to a 16-1 lead over the first 10 minutes of the game. Illinois State came back and trailed only 30-22 at the half, but USC held them to just 14 second-half points to finish off the blowout win.

Ashley Corral added 14 points for the Trojans. Briana Gilbreath had 11. ISU had no players finish in double figures.
