Dolphins move down a spot in Week 2 NFL Power Rankings

The AFC East went 4-0 in Week 1, which made for some intrigue in the latest ESPN NFL Power Rankings.

What stood out most is the Buffalo Bills' significant jump to the No. 9 spot after crushing the Indianapolis Colts, 27-14. The Miami Dolphins also beat the Washington Redskins, 17-10, in a much more competitive game. Miami was ranked No. 16 after an uneven performance in Washington.

Are the Bills (1-0) currently better than the Dolphins (1-0)? According to ESPN's panel, the answer is yes -- and by a fairly significant margin.

The Dolphins' placement at No. 16 is right in the middle of the pack, which is where they've been the past three seasons. If the Bills truly are a top-10 team this season, that is bad news for Miami. The AFC East is much deeper and wins in the division will be hard to come by.

But there is no need to overreact in Week 1. We will find out which team is better soon when Buffalo travels to Miami in Week 3 to play the Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium. This will be the true measuring stick of where both teams stand against one another.

Also in the AFC East, the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots (1-0) moved up to No. 1. The New York Jets (1-0) were ranked No. 21.
