Dolphins' Koa Misi finalist for Polynesian Pro Football Player of the Year

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota and Miami Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi are among the five finalists for the 2015 Polynesian Pro Football Player of the Year award. This inaugural honor recognizes the top pro football player of Polynesian descent.

Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Mike Iupati, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga and San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te'o round out this year's finalists, who were chosen from an initial list of 25 players.

The winner will be announced on Jan. 5 and have a formal presentation at the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame on Jan. 29.

“On behalf of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Board of Directors, we congratulate the inaugural Polynesian Pro Football Player of the Year finalists,” chairman and co-founder Jesse Sapolu said in a press release. “Each of the finalists has had an outstanding season and showcase the immense talent of Polynesian athletes at the highest level of football.”
