The Miami Dolphins have lost five of their past six games and are playing mostly a terrible brand of football. The end of the season cannot come soon enough for this group, which doesn’t appear to have much left in the tank after a rough year.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed by ESPN's expert panel. Miami dropped two more spots this week to No. 27 in its latest NFL Power Rankings.
At 5-10, the Dolphins don’t have much to play for other than pride. The losing likely will continue this week when Miami hosts the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, who won the first meeting this season, 36-7.
In fact, losing could be more beneficial for the Dolphins in the long run. They currently have the No. 6 overall pick in next year’s NFL draft and could move into the top 5 with a loss.
The Dolphins have been in the bottom third of the Power Rankings most of this season and clearly need help next year with impact players.
