Vikings practice without Stefon Diggs, Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings begin the first game of a pivotal stretch of their season Sunday when they play host to the St. Louis Rams. They'll have some recuperating to do between now and Sunday.

The Vikings listed five players as missing practice on Wednesday, and put another four as limited participants on their injury report. Linebacker Anthony Barr, who was not on the field during the open portion of practice, was listed as out with a low back injury, and linebacker Eric Kendricks did not practice with a ribs injury after briefly leaving Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears. Kendricks was seen stretching during the open portion of practice, but went inside after that.

Center Joe Berger also did not practice with a chest injury, watching drills during the open portion. And wide receiver Stefon Diggs, whom coach Mike Zimmer said would practice, was seen running receiver drills during the first part of practice. The Vikings listed him as a non-participant with a hamstring injury.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd was still out after having surgery to remove cartilage from his knee, but was running during the early part of practice. Defensive linemen Justin Trattou (ankle), Everson Griffen (neck) and Tom Johnson (knee) were limited participants, as was linebacker Audie Cole (finger).

Tight end Rhett Ellison, who missed Sunday's game with a concussion, and right tackle T.J. Clemmings, who left early with a stinger, were back to full participation.
