MINNEAPOLIS -- After the results of Sunday's games in the NFC East and NFC West, the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams are locked into last place in their respective divisions. That means the Minnesota Vikings, who are guaranteed to finish last in the NFC North, know all of their 2014 opponents.
Fourteen of the Vikings' 16 opponents for next season had already been determined. But as is the case every year, the Vikings had two games still to be determined: against the NFC East and NFC West teams who finish in the same spot in their divisions as the Vikings do in the NFC North. The Vikings will play the entire NFC South and AFC East, in addition to their usual NFC North schedule.
Here is the Vikings' full list of 2014 opponents:
Home: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, New England, New York Jets, Atlanta, Carolina, Washington
Away: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, St. Louis
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to writing my letter to the league, extolling the virtues of an early season trip to Buffalo and late-season ventures to New Orleans and Florida. Can't waste those warm-weather trips when the weather's still tolerable here, you know. And while we're at it, why not sign the Vikings up for the Bills' annual game in Toronto? They've got a roster full of players with up-to-date passports after their London trip this year, their fans have some shared interests with Canadians and the Bills have played an NFC opponent in Toronto for the last four seasons! What's not to like?
