MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings will report for their 49th consecutive training camp at Minnesota State University on July 24, with their first full-squad practice scheduled for July 25. The team will also return to Mankato, Minnesota, for the week following their first preseason game, as they did the last two years.
The Vikings haven't announced a full training camp schedule yet, but the skeleton of their time in Mankato looks the same as it was last year; they'll hold an evening practice in Blakeslee Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 2, followed by a team introduction and fireworks. The team's first preseason game is Aug. 8 against the Oakland Raiders at TCF Bank Stadium, and the Vikings will get ready for their second exhibition game -- an Aug. 16 contest at home against the Arizona Cardinals -- in Mankato. They'll move practice to their team facility in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, after their second preseason game.
The team will announce more details for specific practices in the coming weeks, but at this point, it's probably safe to assume things will look relatively similar to last year's camp, if you're making plans to watch the team in Mankato. We should have more details in the coming weeks.
