Blue Jays by the numbers: Colabello looking to continue hit streak

The Toronto Blue Jays will start Aaron Sanchez (4-4, 3.88 ERA) at home against Roberto Hernandez (2-4, 4.92 ERA) and the Houston Astros on Friday. Sanchez is 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .204 average in his five home starts this season.

Chris Colabello is hitting .339 during his 14-game hit streak, which is the longest hitting streak in the major leagues this season by a player who is in his first season with a team. According to Elias, Nick Hundley (Rockies), A.J. Pierzynski (Braves) and Dee Gordon (Marlins) all had 13-game hitting streaks this year. It had been eight years since a Toronto player fashioned a 14-game hitting streak during his first season with the team. The last to do so was Frank Thomas (15 games) in 2007.
