Phillies by the numbers: Correia to make second start of the season

Kevin Correia (0-0, 0.00) will make his second start for the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night opposite Ubaldo Jimenez (4-3, 3.19 ERA) and the Baltimore Orioles.

Correia earned a no-decision in his first start of the season, throwing 5 2/3 innings Friday and allowing no runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

After hitting .280/.311/.550 in May, Ryan Howard has struggled in June, hitting .174/.224/.304. His .529 OPS since the start of June is 11th-lowest in the National League (minimum 40 plate appearances). He has struck out in 29 percent of his June plate appearances, eighth-worst in the NL.

Howard has gone 6-for-15 (.400) in his career against Jimenez, with one double, one triple and one home run.
