Castro, 29, is also being pursued by the Atlanta Braves, as well as the Minnesota Twins. Before becoming a free agent at the end of this season, Castro spent the entirety of his six-year career with the Houston Astros. Last season, Castro went .210/.307/.377 in 329 at-bats with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs.
ESPN's Buster Olney says the market for catchers is "very thin" at the moment, making Castro somewhat of a hot item. Olney predicts that Castro will land a three-year deal regardless of what team he signs with.
