The Orioles acquired right-hander Logan Verrett in a deal with the New York Mets, a trade that could signal the end of Vance Worley's tenure in Baltimore, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.

Rumor Central

Friday is the deadline for teams to tender contracts to their arbitration-eligible players, and Worley is one of 10 individuals on the Orioles' list.

Worley made $2.6 million in 2016, his first season of arbitration eligibility, and could pass the $3 million mark after pitching in a variety of roles last season and posting a 3.53 ERA in 35 games.

With Verrett back in the Baltimore organization, Kubatko says it will be a "major surprise" if Worley is tendered a deal, although the Orioles could try to negotiate a new deal with the 29-year-old who has pitched for four teams over seven major league seasons.
