Monday's Sixers News: Brown uncertain when Embiid will be cleared to return

Brown not sure if Embiid will return by Wednesday: Joel Embiid will miss his sixth consecutive game and his ninth out of the last 10 Monday night when the 76ers play the Detroit Pistons. And Sixers coach Brett Brown will say only that the center is expected to return from a left knee bone bruise in the "not-too-distant future." Brown was asked Sunday if Embiid would be available for Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs at the Wells Fargo Center. -- The Philadelphia Inquirer

Lowered trade value of Noel and Okafor leaves Sixers facing tough decisions: If you're an NBA general manager doing your due diligence, chances are you already had several discussions with your 76ers counterpart, Bryan Colangelo. If you're a general manager looking to fine-tune your roster, chances are you will have several more discussions with Colangelo in the coming weeks. -- The Philadelphia Inquirer

Losses help Sixers return focus to real goals: Remember just about a week ago, when folks were talking about the Sixers' playoff possibilities? Of course, that was before the Sixers embarked on their current four-game road trip, in which they have lost the first three by an average of 19 points; and before anyone knew Joel Embiid would be sidelined with a sore knee (or because the team was winning too much, take your pick), as he has missed the last four games. -- Philadelphia Daily News
