Report: Kelly Oubre displays confidence in Jazz workout

Kansas forward Kelly Oubre impressed the Utah Jazz with his ability to handle the ball in a pre-draft workout Sunday morning. When Oubre answered questions on Sunday, his confidence also stood out.

Chad Ford projects Oubre to be selected No. 14 by the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he could also be an option for the Jazz at No. 12.

From Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune:

"Say this about Kelly Oubre. He certainly doesn't lack for confidence. And he certainly has goals for his NBA career. Of course, this isn't a bad thing for the former Kansas Jayhawk. Oubre is a 6-foot-7 small forward who projects as a lottery pick, and is square in the line of sight for the Utah Jazz, who hold the No. 12 pick in the upcoming draft. In most workouts, prospects are sure to say all the right things. ... 'I want to show that I'm a complete player,' Oubre said. 'That defense is first. That my offensive game has come a long way, and that, you know, I seriously can be one of the best in this league one day.' So what intrigues the Jazz — and others — about Oubre? He is one of the most athletic swingmen in the draft, and someone who is physically gifted. He has a long wingspan and can shoot the ball. On Sunday morning, Oubre impressed Utah and its front office with his ability to handle the ball. Jazz VP of Player Personnel Walt Perrin said Oubre came into the workout in good shape, and that he defended and passed the ball well in 3-on-3's."
