Report: Hornets looking for more from Troy Daniels

In his time with the Charlotte Hornets last season, Troy Daniels proved he can shoot the 3. However, the 23-year-old may have to do more this year in order to keep his spot on the team.

The Hornets are urging Daniels to expand his role off the bench, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. Daniels arrived in Charlotte via a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season and impressed by hitting 17 of his 36 attempted 3-pointers with the Hornets.

Now, Daniels' coaches are hoping to see the shooting guard play off the dribble more and add strength to his game:

"To solidify a place in next season’s rotation, [head coach Steve Clifford] said Daniels will have to show more than just 3-point accuracy. 'I’d like to see a total all-around game,' Clifford said. 'He can really shoot and he’s learned how to find space to get his shots off. He’s worked really hard this summer at playing off the second dribble.' ... 'Now I want to see it all; him knowing the defense, all of what we’re doing. He’ll get plenty of opportunities [in the Orlando Pro Summer League] in pick-and-rolls and catch-and-shoot.'"
