Report: Davis stayed with Pelicans for love of city

Anthony Davis' decision to sign a five-year, $145 million contract extension with the New Orleans Pelicans was based on the player's love for the city, according to his agent Thad Foucher.

Foucher, a New Orleans native, spoke with John Reid of the Times-Picayune:

"Davis' agent, Thad Foucher, said Davis accepted the Pelicans' five-year extension, which is the most lucrative in NBA history, because he loves playing in New Orleans and wants to continue what he started with the franchise ... 'What [Davis] really wants to do is pay the city [New Orleans] back for what they've given him, and he feels it is his turn to show people he appreciates them and their support. He's a guy that doesn't want to leave. [New Orleans] is where he wants to be.'"
