Over the course of his third season, Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as quietly emerged as one of the league's most reliable on-ball defenders.
So far this season, Kidd-Gilchrist has missed 20 games and counting. He's been sidelined the last four games with a swollen ankle and remains questionable for the Hornets' Tuesday tilt with the Miami Heat.
That hasn't stopped the Hornets from mounting an entertaining campaign to get Kidd-Gilchrist recognized for his defensive efforts. The highlight of the campaign is a commercial for "MKG Security," the latest in security you didn't know you needed.
But they didn't stop there, issuing a media package that includes a lawn stake and a safe. Here's the spot. Head over to MKG Security for more.
This isn't a new technique for Charlotte, which created "Big Al's Paint" to promote Al Jefferson last year. Jefferson was eventually named to 2014 All-NBA third team.
