All NBA teams need to set their rosters for the 2015-16 regular season by Monday's deadline and at this time the Indiana Pacers have 18 players under contract, which leaves three to be waived. From Candace Buckner of The Indianapolis Star:
- "Barring a surprising development, Kadeem Jack, along with second-year player C.J. Fair, will be waived by the team but extended contracts to join the NBA Development League affiliate Fort Wayne Mad Ants. ... Besides Fair and Jack, there remains one more cut; the predictable choice would be Toney Douglas. Though Douglas signed a partially-guaranteed deal with the Pacers in July as the 16th player on a roster already filled to 15, he has spent training camp picking up new fans in the Pacers’ locker room."
The Pacers have 15 players under contract with full salary protection for the season, which is a main reason why President Larry Bird will probably go with that group. Douglas does get $600,000 if he is waived by Monday's deadline.
