The Brooklyn Nets have had an open roster spot for a while and they have finally decided to fill it as big man Henry Sims is set to sign a 10-day contract, according to Mike Mazzeo of ESPNNewYork.com.
Sims played with Philadelphia during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons and head coach Brett Brown offered up these thoughts on his former player when asked by the New York Post: “He’s one of the people that stands out. He was just a pro. He’s a good person. There’s a toughness, there’s a grumpiness to Henry that I love. Competitive, serious pro, put in time, great teammate. I’m thrilled to see him back in the league. He deserves to be back in the league."
Sims has been playing in the D-League with Grand Rapids and averaging 15.7 points and 8.9 rebounds. Sims went to training camp with Phoenix and was released on Oct. 24.
