Ed Oliver's play already becoming a recruiting tool for Houston

When he was going through the recruiting process, defensive tackle Ed Oliver was told by coaches from LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and countless other schools, he would never showcase his talents on a national stage if he signed with Houston. Boy, were they wrong.

Oliver, the first five-star prospect to sign with a Group of 5 school and the showcase prospect in Houston’s 2016 signing class, was easily the most dominating true freshman on the field during Kickoff Weekend, recording seven tackles, two sacks and chasing Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield all over the field in Houston’s 33-23 victory against No. 3 Oklahoma on Saturday.
