Miami (Ohio) running back Tracy Woods is no longer a part of the football team, coach Don Treadwell announced in a statement Thursday.

The statement gave no word on the reason behind the move, saying only that Woods had been officially released from the team. Woods was expected to be the starter at running back with the departure of senior Thomas Merriweather. Last season, Woods ran for 376 yards and a touchdown, and caught 18 passes for 151 yards.
