New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is in New York on Tuesday, helping to promote a video game, and part of his media tour included an interview on the Mike Lupica Show (ESPN New York, 98.7 FM).
Some of the topics touched upon included (audio link):
1. His viewpoint on Malcolm Butler's Super Bowl-saving interception. "I just had a great feeling, if it was a run or pass, whatever it was, [the defense was] going to make a turnover. Just unbelievable. The way he read it and the quickness he has, it was awesome."
2. Tom Brady's competitive drive on the golf course with Michael Jordan. "He competes at whatever he's doing, that's what makes him such a great player, no matter what it is. I can definitely see him out on that golf course going all-out. ... It's a good thing I wasn't out there, because I would have been driving those balls 400 yards and putting them in the hole [laughing]."
3. How players responded to underinflated football investigation. "We just stuck together. ... That's all you can do, block out all the outside stuff going on."
