          Brandon Spikes in town for Patriots visit

          On a day when the focus is on the New England Patriots, the Wells report, and what it means, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter passes along some football news that free-agent linebacker Brandon Spikes is visiting the club Wednesday.

          This sparks the possibility of a reunion between the Patriots and Spikes, who played for the club from 2010-13 before signing a one-year deal with the Bills last season. The Patriots have been looking for experienced depth behind their top three off-the-line linebackers, Jerod Mayo, Jamie Collins and Dont'a Hightower, as Mayo and Hightower are both coming off significant surgeries.
