Patriots WR Julian Edelman gets his due

NFL Network's "Top 100" players feature is back for another season, and one thing we missed in the immediate reaction of the Wells report is that New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman cracked the list for the first time in his career.

Edelman checked in at No. 91.

In the video profiling Edelman, Patriots fullback James Develin cited remarks relayed by ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. about Edelman being the hardest receiver to cover in the NFL at this time.

"Doesn't get much tougher than Julian Edelman," Develin said. "The guy takes huge hits, shakes them off, and keeps on ticking."

Not bad for a college quarterback who switched to receiver in the NFL after being selected in the seventh round at pick No. 232.
