Patriots agree with rookie WR Zach D'Orazio

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have reached a contract agreement with undrafted rookie receiver Zach D'Orazio.

The 6-foot-0 7/8, 213-pound D'Orazio played at Akron, where he carved out his niche working from the slot. D'Orazio totaled 62 receptions for 658 yards last season. He had another year of college eligibility because he redshirted as a freshman, but he elected to enter the draft.

D'Orazio, who joins the Patriots at the start of organized team activities, will look to carve out a similar path as undrafted slot receivers Cole Beasley (Cowboys) and Brenton Bersin (Panthers), who share the same agents as D'Orazio -- Joel and Justin Turner of Turner Sports Management.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun and National Football Post first reported news of the Patriots' agreement with D'Orazio.
