FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots will practice at 9:15 a.m. ET Saturday, marking their ninth practice since camp began July 30.
Bill Belichick is scheduled to address reporters at 8:45 a.m.
Weather check: Temperatures are expected to be in the high 60s/low 70s at the start of Saturday's practice.
Dress code: We'll take an educated guess that it will be full pads for the third day in a row, as Belichick attempts to create physical and mental stress on players. The Patriots have had five full-pads practices and three in shorts/light shoulder pads since the opening of camp.
Recapping Friday's developments: Injuries are piling up on the team, as 21 players began the practice as absent because of health/rehabilitation. The number increased to 22 when running back LeGarrette Blount injured his right leg/knee and remained down for a few minutes before walking to the locker room under his own power. The Boston Globe reported that Blount sprained his right MCL. Meanwhile, first-round pick Malcom Brown and center Bryan Stork also didn't finish the practice, but their injuries didn't appear to be as serious. ... Tight end Rob Gronkowski talked about working through the "dog days" of camp and touched on how Tom Brady helps the team in that area. ... Officials worked with the team for the second straight day and met with reporters to discuss 2015 rule changes and points of emphasis. ... Roger Goodell's exchange with Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Ron Wolf was notable, and Wolf later explained what he was thinking. ... Rookie defensive tackle Vince Taylor was released off injured reserve with an injury settlement.
