Brady on the practice field with teammates. Quarterback Tom Brady walked from the locker room to the two practice fields behind Gillette Stadium in the 4 o'clock hour as part of a walkthrough type session. He was with several players who would be considered first-stringers. That reflects how the Patriots are balancing preparations for the season opener Sept. 10 against the Steelers in addition to playing tonight's preseason finale, and likely that many first-stringers aren't expected to play tonight.
Weather conditions. Temperatures are expected to be in the high-70s with little to no chance of precipitation (humidity around 70 percent).
Morelli gets the call. Pete Morelli has been assigned to referee tonight's game, with Sarah Thomas -- the league's first female official -- working as a line judge.
Scouts in the house. The Lions, Steelers and Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League are scheduled to have scouts in attendance.
Belichick on GameDay cover. Patriots coach Bill Belichick is on the cover of the GameDay magazine being sold at Gillette Stadium tonight.
Super Bowl banners moved. The team's three Super Bowl banners have been moved above the south end zone, making room for a fourth banner that will be unveiled Sept. 10.
