FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Mark those calendars: The New England Patriots will hold their first open practice of training camp on Thursday, July 28. That is one day after veteran players are scheduled to report.
In making the announcement of the opening of training camp, the Patriots also finalized a few other details:
The team will host the New Orleans Saints for joint practices on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 10 in advance of the teams' preseason opener at Gillette Stadium. The practices are open to the public.
The team will host the Chicago Bears for joint practices on Monday, Aug. 15 and Tuesday, Aug. 16. The practices, which also are open to the public, will be held in advance of the team's preseason game at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 18.
Induction ceremonies for running back Kevin Faulk into the Patriots Hall of Fame are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. ET. The event is free and open to the public, and is held on the NRG Plaza outside the Patriots Hall of Fame. Following the induction, the Patriots will host their annual in-stadium practice for season-ticket holders and Foxborough residents inside Gillette Stadium at 7 p.m. ET.
So the countdown is now on; it's 41 days until all Patriots players are scheduled to report to training camp.
