The Saints’ problems are nothing that a little home cooking can’t cure, right?
That should be the case this week, at least, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints' offense has still shown its ability to score points in bunches this season – despite some maddening inconsistency. And it's even better at doing that inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, where the Saints have won nine straight games.
New Orleans’ defense, meanwhile, should be helped even more by the home atmosphere, with the crowd noise helping to make young quarterback Mike Glennon uncomfortable. At least that BETTER be the case.
The Saints have only five sacks this season and zero interceptions. So they need to be more disruptive up front. But they also need to be much better against the run than they were last week against Dallas to force Tampa Bay into some third-and-long situations.
My prediction: Saints 28, Buccaneers 17
