METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints held only a light walk-through session on Wednesday since they’re coming off of a Monday night game. So they gave an estimated injury report instead of an actual practice-participation report.
Armstead left Monday night’s 31-15 victory over the Chicago Bears early and did not return -- the second straight week he left early with the neck injury. Last week he only missed one day of practice, so it remains to be seen if it’s the same drill this week.
Sanford left Monday’s game briefly with an injury but returned. Hicks did not appear to leave the game early.
It’s a good sign that Saints outside linebacker Junior Galette didn’t appear on the injury report after being limited by a knee injury last week. But we’ll get a better feel for everyone’s status Thursday.
The Falcons’ injury report is a lot more dramatic since receivers Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas and safety William Moore all missed Wednesday’s practice. The Saints will definitely prepare for the possibility of Jones playing after he sat out last week with a hip injury, since he’s one of the NFL’s most dangerous playmakers.
“Yeah, he’s definitely gonna play,” Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis said. “Why not? There’s just as much at stake for them as there is for us.”
