Delvin Breaux leads Saints in performance-based pay, ranks 10th in NFL

Not surprisingly, Delvin Breaux’s rise from the Canadian Football League to the New Orleans Saints’ No. 1 cornerback job earned him the highest performance-based pay bonus on the Saints’ roster for 2015.

Breaux earned an extra $295,356.38, which ranked as the 10th-highest total in the NFL.

Every team in the NFL receives a total of $3.802 million in performance-based pay from a fund designed to supplement the salaries of players whose snap counts exceed their salaries.

Receiver Willie Snead ($229,657.57) and guard Tim Lelito ($203,223.30) ranked second and third on the Saints’ list.

Nine other players earned more than $100,000 bonuses (DE Bobby Richardson, DT Tyeler Davison, OLB Kasim Edebali, WR Brandon Coleman, TE Josh Hill, OT Terron Armstead, CB Kyle Wilson, G Senio Kelemete and LB Michael Mauti).
