New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead tweeted Monday night that he was headed in for “minor hand surgery” on Tuesday morning. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, especially considering his position. A lot of players undergo surgeries after the season that we never even find out about since they have ample time to recover before the start of offseason workouts.
I still expect Armstead to make that “Year 2 leap” that players and coaches often talk about. Armstead played very well in the playoffs after being thrust into the lineup for the first time in Week 16. And now the athletic 6-foot-5, 304-pounder from Arkansas-Pine Bluff should spend the entire offseason working with the starting unit as he continues to develop.
