Kidd: Stars coming off bench 'the in thing'

NEW YORK -- First Deron Williams. Now Dwyane Wade.

Seems like these days, all the cool kids are coming off the bench.

“It’s the in thing,” Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd joked before Monday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

Williams and Wade are both playing reserve roles as they ease their way back into the lineup from injuries. Both have said it was their decision to do so.

In four games coming off the bench, Williams is averaging 11.8 points and 7.5 assists on 44.4 percent shooting in 31 minutes.

Williams will come off the bench again against the Raptors.
