NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams re-aggravated his sore left side following a four-minute stint off the bench during Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics, and did not return.
The team said it will have an update on his status Thursday.
Williams checked out of the game with 10:21 left in the second quarter and was quickly tended to by trainer Tim Walsh before heading back to the locker room.
Williams was returning to the lineup after missing Monday night’s loss against Dallas after hurting himself Sunday night in Miami.
The Nets listed Williams as probable to play against the Mavericks before declaring him out. They then listed him as doubtful for Wednesday night’s game before declaring him available to play before tipoff.
