Charles Barkley plugs Nets, rips Knicks

Charles Barkley reiterated Tuesday that the Brooklyn Nets are “the best team in New York.”

Barkley also continued to rip the New York Knicks for being old.

“If it was 2000, I would make the New York Knicks the favorite to win the NBA championship,” Barkley said.

Barkley was speaking on a conference call with fellow TNT analysts Shaquille O’Neal and Reggie Miller. Miller called the Knicks a “slight favorite” against the Nets, while O’Neal was in Brooklyn’s corner.

Last month, Barkley criticized New York’s additions of Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby.

“They must think it’s 1995,” Barkley said, according to Newsday. “It’s 2012. They went out and got 92-year-old Jason Kidd and 92-year-old Marcus Camby.”
