Agent: Giants 'in first three' for Leach

Vonta Leach is in no rush to make a deal with as many as five teams in the mix for the fullback's services.

Ralph Vitolo, Leach's agent, told FOX 26 Sports in Houston that the Giants are firmly in the running.

"Nobody has been excluded," Vitolo said to the Houston television station. "You have to put Miami, Houston and the Giants in the first three.

"Kansas City is also involved and Baltimore is included in this also."

The Giants have an interest in Leach not just because he is a Pro Bowl fullback, but also because Henry Hynoski is sidelined after undergoing knee surgery. Hynoski hopes to be ready by the start of the season but the Giants' interest in Leach may indicate Hynoski may not be ready to return by early September.

The Giants, though, are limited by what they can offer Leach due to their salary cap. Miami is considered the frontrunner for Leach.

"To me Miami is the best fit because of their needs and their availability of [salary] cap room," the agent said. "I think the best overall fit is Miami, but who knows.

"He still has an interest in Houston and the Giants, the Chiefs and the Ravens. That's all predicated on can the deals be done based on the finances they have."
